ADHD coaching is a holistic, individualized approach for the management and support of ADHD symptoms that can be used in conjunction with or without ADHD medication.

Who is ADHD Coaching for?

An ideal person to consider working with an ADHD coach is someone with ADHD who is seeking additional support to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life. ADHD coaching can be beneficial for individuals of various ages, including children, teenagers, and adults.

Ask yourself if any of the following scenarios resonate with you:

  1. Individuals who struggle with organizing tasks, time management, and prioritizing activities.

  2. Students who experience challenges with studying, completing assignments, or staying focused in class.

  3. Professionals who face difficulties with productivity, meeting deadlines, and staying organized at work.

  4. People who have trouble maintaining consistent routines, breaking procrastination habits, or managing impulsivity.

  5. Those who feel overwhelmed, stressed, or frustrated due to the impact of ADHD symptoms on their daily lives.

What is ADHD Coaching?

ADHD coaching is a collaborative process to get the client from where they are today to where they want to be in the future. The client drives the process and the coach asks questions that allows the clients to use the information they already know to come up with new awareness and insight. ADHD coaching is typically structured over a few months with the client determining what outcomes they would like to see by the end of the coaching process. Each session is driven by what the client wants to discuss that day, the overarching goals may change as the client gains new awareness and discovers what they thought they wanted and what they actual want is different (and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that!)

What an ADHD Coach is not (at least here)

Therapist

  1. ADHD coaching is really focused on the present and moving forward, it is not aimed at processing old wounds and deeper traumas (though these wounds and traumas may often show up in the session!)

  1. Accountability Partner

    1. I truly believe that it is up to individuals to determine the best ways to manage themselves to achieve their goals, it is not my job to check up on you and keep track of your progress. We will check in to make sure you feel you are progressing in the way you want, but that doesn’t mean we will be keeping track of different tasks and making sure they are complete during the sessions.

  2. Expert

    1. The client is the expert here, if someone else had all the answers for you I think you would have found them by now and you probably wouldn’t be looking at this page. The truth is that ADHD and people are highly unique, as such your solutions should fit you and no one knows you better than yourself.

How to know if you are ready for ADHD Coaching

Here are a few indicators that you may be ready to consider ADHD coaching:

  1. Acknowledgment of challenges: If you recognize that ADHD symptoms are impacting your daily life, such as difficulties with organization, time management, or focus, and you're motivated to make positive changes, coaching can be beneficial.

  2. Desire for support: If you feel like you could benefit from guidance, structure, and accountability in managing ADHD symptoms and improving your overall well-being, coaching can provide the support you need.

  3. Willingness to learn and try new strategies: Coaching involves exploring different strategies and techniques tailored to your specific needs. If you're open to trying new approaches and are willing to put in the effort to implement them, you're likely ready for coaching.

  4. Commitment to personal growth: Coaching requires active participation and a commitment to personal growth. If you're ready to invest time and effort into working on yourself, setting goals, and making positive changes, coaching can be a valuable tool.

  5. Readiness for change: Being ready for ADHD coaching means being open to change and having a proactive mindset. It involves being willing to step outside your comfort zone, challenge existing habits, and embrace new ways of thinking and behaving.
