Overcoming Self-Doubt: Embracing Your Worthiness

It's time for some real talk! Today, I want to open up about something many of us struggle with – self-doubt. It's not always easy for me to talk about this, as it's a feeling I still battle with from time to time. But I know that sharing our vulnerabilities can be empowering, so here's my take on it…

Imposter Syndrome: A Universal Struggle

The elephant in the room – imposter syndrome. That nagging feeling that you're not good enough, that you're somehow tricking everyone into believing you're competent. Guess what? You're not alone. It's something that even experienced professionals wrestle with.

Believe in What Others See in You

One powerful way to defeat to self-doubt is to listen to what others have to say. Your patients, for instance, are not just seeking your help; they genuinely appreciate and value what you do for them. Co-workers and students who've learned from you – they see your expertise and respect it. Start believing what you're already being told!

Embrace Your Professional Identity

Remember, you hold a valuable license, and you've earned it through hard work and dedication. There's an objective truth in that – you are enough. Even on days when self-doubt tries to creep in, remind yourself that your qualifications, experience and the positive impact you've had on others speak volumes about your worthiness (even if you aren’t currently feeling it).

Say "Thank You" to Yourself

Thank yourself for your dedication, for your willingness to learn and grow and for the lives you've touched through your work. Embrace the fact that you are worthy, capable, and deserving of all the success that comes your way. Always remember, you are not alone in your self-doubt, and you are so much more than it will ever let you believe.
